Life has become busier, we are sleeping less, but we sure had a lot of fun celebrating your 42nd birthday on Tuesday night. Ben had fun making your (favorite, yearly) chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and sneaking away to Brushfire, our local paint your own pottery place, to paint this special plate for you. He kept saying "I only painted a nutcracker when we were there, and nothing else, right Mom?" (Mr. secret keeper) I was thankful that mom and dad watched Ben today so that I could set the table and make your favorite dinner Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas (the first dinner I ever cooked for you when we started dating) with rice, salad, and beans- it was yummy. We all sat around the table, with candles lit, Christmas lights glowing, Ben dancing to the Vince Guaraldi Trio's "Charlie Brown Christmas" while it played in the background, Emma looking around at the lights with that sweet little "o" formation on her lips, lots of laughter, love, and good times. What a fun night. I love making your birthday special- you deserve it more than anyone I know. I love you Dave. Here's to at least 42 more birthday's together!
