I asked, and hoped, and wished, and I even did the snow dance, and it finally happened this past Sunday evening- we received almost 6 inches of pure white, glorius snow on the valley floor and even a few more inches in the hills.
Monday, January 28th was Ben's first no school snow day. You can see the joy on his face.
It was also Emma's first snow- she just stared and stared at all that white covering the world.
We've only had 2 days of school this week (we rarely get any snowfall in Eugene so the whole city screeches to a halt- the upside of this is that there is a blissful, serene quiet that settles everywhere.)
Three days have passed and the snow is gone now except for a small patch in the backyard where Dave and Ben built a snow dinosaur.
I loved every cocoa sipping, pj wearing, snowball throwing, snowflake gazing, peaceful, exciting moment of it.
And today when Ben came home from school with his newly created groundhog puppet he asked me if we could find out if the groundhog sees his shadow this Saturday. When I asked him why he was so interested he replied:
"I hope he sees his shadow because we will get 6 more weeks of winter and it might snow again!!!"
Aaah, a child after my own heart.
