This year Dave's birthday fell on Thanksgiving- Happy 43rd birthday sweetie-pie. I am thankful that I met this man 20 years ago. And thankful that we have been married for 13 years. And thankful for our 2 beautiful, healthy children. And thankful that Dave laughs a lot. Especially on the days that our 2 beautiful, healthy children give their parents a run for their money... Ben was thankful that I brought him a peanut butter and jelly sandwich since he doesn't care for any of the traditional Thanksgiving food choices (we had turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, rolls, sweet potatoes, salad, marinated Brussels sprouts, and second helpings.)
These turkey plates belonged to my great-grandparents, they used to have a booth at the Flea Market, they sold antique glassware and dish ware and had a large glass popcorn machine. These were some of the plates my Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa Bennett collected. I love that we use them every Thanksgiving.
This is the pumpkin cheesecake with sour cream topping that my mom made for Dave's birthday.
Dave was thankful to not be eating pumpkin pie on his birthday! Dave, Ben, Emma and I ended the evening cuddled up in the big bed, snuggly in our pajamas, watching the "Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" special- the second half of the special told the story of the Mayflower pilgrim's voyage. While watching they showed a part where a passenger fell off the Mayflower and was rescued by the crew- the passengers last name was Howland and we are descendants on my mom's side of the family. Ben thought that was pretty cool. I hope all of you had a Happy Thanksgiving.
