I have always loved this vintage black and white Easter photo of my paternal Grandma Laurice, my Aunt Jani, and my dad. Something about the combination of my grandma's beautiful skirt, the basket of eggs, my dad's overalls and my aunt's cute bonnet just lent themselves to creating a layout. I ended up submitting this layout to Simple Scrapbooks magazine http://www.simplescrapbooksmagazine.com/
and having it accepted into their "Reader Showcase" section in the March/April 2009 issue- it was fun to see this layout in print but even more exciting to be able to give a copy of it to my aunt and dad.
My friend Jen bought this dress for Emma- I think I see an Easter layout in the near future...
We are lucky to have some good friends (hey there Peapodamus) who invited us to a Spring Egg hunt at their new home last Sunday. And they couldn't have picked a more beautiful weekend- sunny and in the high 60's. A fun and perfect day.
Ben's favorite part of the day was running around with all the kids searching for eggs (then looking at what was inside them).
Emma's favorites included throwing herself in the grass to roll in her pretty new dress (love that girl!)
Or opening all the eggs before the hunt once she found out they were full of yummy Annie's Cheddar Bunnies!
And the grownup's favorite part? Eating the delicious, and beautiful to behold, traditional English Trifle made by Peapodamus!
Wishing everyone a fun Easter weekend (I will be back Monday to post egg dyeing and soggy egg hunt photos.)
